Delicious crema catalana, also called catalan cream, is so easy to make at home when you have the right equipment. This set of 6 ceramic cazuelas provides the perfect vessel, and the metal caramelizing iron (called a salamander) does a beautiful job of creating a cracklingly crisp and glassy sugared top for the smooth and silky custard.
Before the first use, we recommend immersing the cazuela in water for 8 hours. This is an optional step but helps its heat resistance.
Each cazuela measures 4 3/4 x 1 inches. Capacity is 6 ounces (3/4 cup).
