Spanish Smoked Paprika (pimenton)

70-gram tin of Pimenton de la Vera. It is genuine D.O. pimenton, made in Extremadura from peppers that have been slowly smoked over oakwood and then stone-ground to a silky fine powder. Pimenton adds a depth of flavor to your paellas that no other spice can replicate. Add a little to your sofrito or your broth, and its smoky, seductive flavor will permeate the dish. We also use pimenton to flavor sauces, stews, braises, vegetable side dishes, and salads. Use it in any dish that calls for regular paprika.

Hot (picante) pimenton delivers a pleasant kick of spice. Sweet (dulce) pimenton is much tamer. Photo may not reflect actual packaging as our supplier can vary.
